Dreams that are held on to are the most valuable

When I said goodbye to my former company, the chairman of the company once said to me, "Hu, when you leave the company, it is like going from the ninth floor (the company headquarters was on the ninth floor of an office building at that time) to the first floor, you have to think about it." I answered with a smile: "To the first floor is good, tall buildings rise from the ground."

 

After saying goodbye, I spent a long time at home recuperating. An important souvenir of this period is that the census takers at that time wrote the word "unemployed" in the occupation column of my family's household register. After more than ten years of struggle after arriving in Beijing, during that time I finally realized the idea of being able to walk with my wife and chat with my children in free time. But in fact, my brain has never been idle, my heart constantly thinking about what to do in the future, including studying for a doctorate, so that I can take my academic research to a higher level. After several months of thinking, I finally chose to return to the training industry, although the dream of learning is full of temptation, but the dream of "changing the attitude and method of Chinese students to learn English, and cultivating Chinese people who can truly use English" and the sense of responsibility let me go on the road again, as long as this road is there, I will walk on this road. Someone once asked a famous mountaineer, "Why do you climb mountains?" and he replied, "Because the mountains are there."

 

In this way, in a residential house on Zhichun Road, the prototype of a company was cobbled together. There were a few men and a few guns: a whole room in the book department, everyone around a conference table, a circle of computers; The finance department, the general office and the president's secretary are in another room; In the living room are Chinese and foreign experts developing textbooks and training school preparation teams. On one occasion, when the power went out in the building, colleagues sweated up to the ninth floor and excitedly chatted around the living room about the new books and teaching materials they were planning. At that time, I did not think of what it would be like a few years later, and the dream was not so big, but I was very ambitious every day, and the first thing in the morning was to go to the ordinary residential house to see when our first set of textbooks was finished and where the first campus was selected. Having a dream and realizing it is a happy day, although the dream is still small, but there is no doubt that it has a hard core.

 

Because of this persistence, our career is gradually on the right track, and the reputation of "New Channel" is gradually becoming known. At this time, the firepower of competitors has also been attracted to come over, lurking against the water, slander, and encirclement, and Bridges that can be seen in movies and TV dramas have appeared. Then the cash flow dried up, trusted comrades died seriously ill, and one blow followed another. More than a year, almost experienced the life of the hundred taste, and my psychological ability has been pushed to the limit. During the Spring Festival in 2006, for the first time I did not spend time with my family, I shut myself in my room for seven days, thinking behind closed doors and repeatedly asking myself whether I should continue to do it? Should we hold on to our dreams? When I walked out of the room and faced the courtyard full of bright sunshine, I had made up my mind to continue the company. Because the company is no longer the place where I realize my personal dreams, but the home where all employees carry their dreams and fight for them. The faster you can't hold on, the more you should hold on.

 

Looking back, the past is vivid, as if it happened yesterday, and the company has gone through ten spring and autumn. Never forget why you started, and your mission can be accomplished. We have gone through ten years in a blink of an eye. Every year, more and more students learn English well through the new Channel and enter the world famous schools. All of these come from dreams and succeed in persistence!

 

If I had chosen to pursue further education instead of realizing my dream, there might have been one more scholar in China's education circle, but there would not have been the "new channel" that has affected millions of students today.

 

If, at that time, we disdain to start from little by little, a book, a lesson, a reader, a student, not afraid to let the dream start from a small place, always thinking of lofty ambitions, and suddenly do earth-shattering big undertakings, we may have fallen to pieces in the first big step jump.

 

The dream you don't give up on is the most valuable dream, because it is incomparable. Looking back on the past, all kinds of blows and pain have disappeared, and those tribulations have become MEDALS, hanging on the chest of every new Channel employee who does not waver, does not give up, and always walks to the end, just like our common dream, lasting and fresh, shining!
